We seek to create a vibrant community that serves as a destination for the arts, where we invest in creative endeavors that inspire and connect people.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

It all started with an idea Plainfield Mayor John Argoudelis had been considering for some time, followed by a very generous donation from Mr. Menjinder (‘Mac’) Bhambra

Mr. Bhambra invited Mayor Argoudelis to lunch to offer a donation in the form of land and a site for our very first Public Arts project located at the neglected corner at Routes 30 and 59 to the Village. With the first project in mind, Amy DeBoni, Plainfield Community Relations Director, and Mayor Argoudelis called out to the community to form the Plainfield Public Arts Council (PPAC). An open invitation to all who were interested was offered to community members passionate about the arts and the beautification of Plainfield spaces.

And so it began, April 26, 2024 – the Mayor hosted the first meeting of  community members who joined to learn, gather ideas and to start bringing PPAC to life. The group continues to welcome all who would like to be a part of this community initiative to join meetings on the last Thursday of each month. We welcome all who would like to volunteer, represent artistic ideas, fundraise or learn more about upcoming events and projects.

“We are not a collection of buildings, roads and things, but rather a community of people. And in our people lies our strength and dynamism. This can truly be a community effort."
