Our first project stems from a very generous donation from Plainfield resident, Mr. Menjinder (‘Mac’) Bhambra.
Mr. Bhambra invited Mayor Argoudelis to lunch to offer a donation in the form of land and a site for our very first Public Arts project located at the neglected corner at Routes 30 and 59 to the Village. With the first project in mind, Amy DeBoni, Plainfield Community Relations Director, and Mayor Argoudelis called out to the community to form the Plainfield Public Arts Council (PPAC). An open invitation to all who were interested was offered to community members passionate about the arts and the beautification of Plainfield spaces.
We are currently working on funding and ideas that work safely on this high-profile area.
Considerations for projects and implementation:
Pedestrian Safety – the concern for pedestrian safety needs to be considered.
Viewable from a distance – this space is surrounded by high traffic volumn
