Plainfield Public Arts Council invites local businesses to participate in first Winter Windows Contest

Plainfield Public Arts Council’s (PPAC) inaugural event invites the Plainfield community to support local businesses this holiday and winter season.  

PPAC’s goal is to invite local businesses to participate by creating artistic window displays and to encourage community visits to bricks and mortars this season. This contest is a fun way to promote our Plainfield local businesses and artists and aims to encourage participation in artistic initiatives and community building.

  • Businesses can participate by creating  window displays with winter themes and supporting local artists. Businesses must register on our website by December 6, 2024.

  • Patrons can participate by supporting local businesses this season and voting for their favorite displays.

We are also building an Artist Directory. We may be able to help connect artists to local businesses interested in commissioning their services for Winter Windows.

WHO/WHERE:

Plainfield Public Arts Council 2024 Winter Windows invites all brick and mortar businesses in Plainfield (incorporated and unincorporated) to participate 

WHAT:

Winter Windows 2024-2025 presented by the Plainfield Public Arts Council

HOW IT WORKS:

  • November 30, 2024EXTENDED TO DEC. 6TH – Business Registration Deadline – register to participate
  • Businesses decorate windows for Winter Themes (holidays, traditions, folklore, seasonal designs)
  • Businesses can download a Flyer with QR code to share with patrons (flyer will have QR to link to webpage with voting instructions via Facebook and Instagram)
  • December 13 – January 10, 2024 – Patrons Social Media Voting

Social Media Voting:

  • Businesses and customers can put photos of their favorite Window Display on Instagram and/or Facebook then tagging @plainfieldpublicartscouncil and adding #PPACWinterWindows


  • January 17, 2024 – Winner Announcement – Winners will be announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages 

Winter Windows Guidelines

  • Businesses must register at plainfieldpublicartscouncil.org/Winter-Windows/ by November 30 to enter.

     

  • Businesses must provide materials. Materials can include materials beyond window paint – 2D or 3D displays are acceptable.

     

  • PPAC may connect you with an artist when or if available. It’s up to the businesses to review payment, timing and terms with the artist(s).

     

  • Themes can include winter topics for example, holidays, traditions, folklore, seasonal designs.

     

  • Social Media Voting December 13 – January 10

  • Winners will be promoted on the PPAC Instagram and Facebook pages.

  • This contest is also for fun and to promote our local Plainfield businesses, artists, participation in artistic initiatives and community building.
